CEPP: Our Second Brain: Our Gut’s Role in Learning and Behavior
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Karen Williams, Rainbow Days
$25 for Non-DSHS funded providers
This workshop links a review of behavior chemistry with the discovery that our digestive system plays a vital role in both that chemistry and our behavior. This role is so significant that our gut has become known as our second brain! We will examine the latest neuroscience that explains this phenomenon, its application to the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study, and discuss how it relates to increase the effectiveness of prevention and early intervention efforts at every level of society.
